Last week I visited the New South Wales digital court and tribunals team in Sydney. It was great to see what they were up to and learn about some of their recent service changes and discuss approach and thinking on services. Check out my blog post on the Ministry of Justice Digital blog.
Again brilliant to hear about the other projects like the single court, audiovisual links for prisoners and discuss approach for building capability.
What was most exciting is how similar the services felt to the ones being tackled by the Ministry of Justice in the UK. Things like the Service-Mapper that @abscond and I worked on struck a chord with the teams needs.
To me this feels like a great opportunity to open up service change to allow learnings and solutions to be shared not just in one country, but across the globe. Allowing users and staff benefit from others experiences, research, policy change and digital products. While preventing the waste of duplication for public services where knowledge and understanding could be shared.
It would be great to be able to work more closely with their team and I really hope I have the opportunity to collaborate in the future and will be working hard to set up connections.
My only wish was that I had more time in Sydney and that it wasn't quite so far away!
